"Mental health struggles hinder a person’s every task, which is why taking care of your mental health is the best decision you can make for yourself. I believe that our mindsets and emotions are incredibly important in how we view the world and in the lives we choose to live, which is why learning therapeutic skills, healthy coping mechanisms and strengthening our positive self talk is key to overcoming our mental struggles. My therapeutic approach is primarily solution focused and goal driven. However, my ultimate goal is to provide a safe space for you to come in with whatever life throws your way and to get you to believe that you will be okay.
I mainly approach my work from a trauma-informed dialectical behavioral and systemic therapy lens. I advocate for cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques and aim to teach clients the essential distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness skills. In other words, I aim to cultivate a safe space where you can share with me your worries, desires, thoughts and emotions, all while knowing that you are worthy. I approach sessions as a team effort to work for your best needs and to best equip you with skills to navigate the coming weeks and events in life. I am flexible to hearing what your needs and goals are and adjusting my approach to best suit those.
As an Arab who moved to the West, I realized early on how important interpersonal effectiveness skills are, especially in the global field of psychology In order to better equip myself with these skills at a young age, I started interning at DBT and CBT focused mental health sites, with the aim of forming interpersonal connections with people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
I have broad experience working with both individuals and couples in the following areas: interpersonal relationships, boundary management, heartbreak/divorce relationship concerns, anxiety, struggles with body dysmorphia, abuse and trauma (sexual, emotional, and physical), life adjustments and stressors, depression, coping skills and stress management and more."
